Meen Puliyila Chuttathu/ Meen Puliyila
‘MEEN PULIYILA CHUTTATHE’ is traditional Kerala fish dish. Meen puliyila varity dish prepared with small fish like ozhika and spring tamarind leaves. Traditionally meen puliyila parcel cooked in charcoal heat . This dish doesn’t need oil whiling cooking.i iam sightly changed it’s tradition recipe.meenpuliyila chuttathe absolutely delicious and healthy Kerala dish everyone should try in your kitchen.
INGREDIANTS
Ozhuka fish 200 gm
Spring tamarind 2 cup
Grated coconut 1/2cup
Cumin seeds 1/4 tsp
Gooseberry flesh 1 no
Shallots 4 no
Bird eye chilly 10 no
Ginger small piece
Garlic 1 clove
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Coconut oil
Banana leaves
Curry leaves
Salt

PREPARATION
Wash the fish neatly and keep aside
Wash the tamarind in water for removing any kind of dirt
Blend all grated coconut tamarind leaves , turmeric powder powder,shallots,cumin,salt,Curry leaves, gooseberry, ginger,garlic,bird eye Chillies, and coconut oil.(Grind like paste and dont use water)
The masala mixture (tamarind marinade) mix with fish and keep for 20 mins
Take banana leaves and keep the mixture on top banana leaves ,fold the leaves to hold the mixture inside and cover all side and make like parcel
Take aluminum pan and heat it medium temperature.
Keep the parcel in top of the pan. And very careful to burning the dish(need to keep more banana leaves down side of parcel to prevent burning of dish)
15 to 20 mins take cooking the fish and no need to apply any oil in a pan
Once dish is ready remove parcel from the pan
Serve with boiled rice.
