Malabar fish curry
Malabar fish curry is the traditional dish from
northern side Kerala people .This is the one of the favourite fish dish in my house . I usually make this curry. It is easy to make within shortest time in homes and simple recepie.curry prepared in open mouthed earthenware pot for better taste.
The curry mainly prepared with coconut and cocum based. The preparation involves using coconut milk of different consistency add at add different intervals .the pnerfect mix of coconut,green chilli and tomatoes just blend well with dish and taste so delicious .

King fish 500gm
Garlic 2 cloves
Ginger a small piece
Shallots 8 nos
Tomato 1 no
Green chilly 2 no
Fenugreek 4 no
Chilly powder 2 tap
Turmeric powder 1/2 tap
Corriander powder 1 tsp
Coconut milk 1 cup
Cocum 1 small piece
For tempering ingredients
- Clean the cut fish in water with vinegar, it helps to remove bad smell from fish and keep aside.
clean and chop shallots.cut tomato in to thick pieces.chop ginger and garlic.
heat oil in a fish curry earthenware pot add curry leaves and shallots and green chili.saute well till shallots become soft.then add chopped ginger and garlic.saute till raw smell goes.
Add chill power, Corriander powder and turmeric powder to the pot
Add cocum to the dish it give sweet and sour taste to dish.
Add cocount milk with different interval of times
once the gravy boiled well add fish pieces,tomatoes and salt.
After few minutes Keep flame for simmering temperature.
Once fish is cooked ,remove from heat
Heat oil in one small pan and add mustard , thin sliced shallots and curry leaves for tempering. Once it’s fried pour to fish curry
Serve with rice.
